Collaboration

Our Literacy Partners

Reading is a community effort. The Extensive Reading Movement works hand in hand with the Ghana Education Service, district education directorates, local schools and teachers, libraries, publishers and booksellers, community leaders and chiefs, parent-teacher associations, and local and international literacy organisations. Together with our sponsors and donors, we are building a community of confident readers across the Central Tongu District of the Volta Region, Ghana.

Everyone Has a Role to Play

Since our launch on 25th June 2026, the movement has grown around a simple belief: when the whole community reads together, every child rises together. Our partners make this possible.

Schools and Teachers

Teachers lead reading clubs and daily quiet reading in classrooms across the district.

Libraries

Community and school libraries keep the books flowing long after the bell rings.

Publishers and Booksellers

We work with publishers and booksellers to supply affordable, level-appropriate reading materials.

Chiefs and Community Leaders

Traditional leaders champion reading in durbars and rally families to join the movement.

Parent-Teacher Associations

PTAs encourage reading at home and keep the momentum between school terms.

NGOs and International Organisations

Literacy-focused NGOs and international partners bring resources, training, and expertise.

Sponsors and Donors

Our sponsors and donors fund books, prizes, and the annual Main Reading Festival on 8th September.
